A qualified actuary with extensive experience in General Insurance, Sarah has held senior leadership roles with AXA, the AA and Insure the Box. Sarah has practical experience in pricing, underwriting and product management of motor, home and pet insurance as well as vehicle breakdown and home emergency products. Coupled with a clear understanding of how big businesses function, Sarah’s insight has helped develop large established insurers and emerging businesses in adjacent industries alike. Her expertise and guidance underpin all client projects. Sarah’s experience includes:

• Gap-analysis of as-is pricing capability versus best-practice; establishing and executing improvement plans
• Launching new rating structures based on ground-up risk modelling
• Establishing new external data partnerships to fill gaps in rating data
• Integrating vehicle telematics data into insurance pricing, risk and claims management processes
• Reducing road deaths and serious injuries using vehicle telematics data to create personalised behavioural change communications
• Bringing discipline and governance to pricing (establishing fit-for-purpose sign off processes, analytical rigour, change control and appropriate post-implementation reporting)
• Building relationships between dependent departments to deliver more cohesive business strategies
• Leading and developing teams from 3 to 20+, recruiting analysts, underwriters, product managers and data warehousing specialists and developing their own management skills

Alistair Stark

Insurance Analyst

Alistair graduated from Durham University with a degree in Mathematics. He has hands-on experience leading and developing project teams, particularly where a data-driven approach to problem-solving is required. Alistair has a keen interest in understanding the data behind the insurance industry and offers experience in:

• Data preparation
• Risk modelling and more general modelling projects
• Data visualisation and MI production

Working independently or as part of client teams, he takes a lead role in extracting value from data and building long-term value with Angelica Solutions’ clients.

Felix Fawcett

Insurance Analyst

Felix graduated from Durham university with first class honours in Mathematics and Philosophy. This unique combination of subjects gives Felix a rounded and versatile approach to solving problems and drawing conclusions from data. Felix is a student actuary with strong data and analytics experience, including:

• Data manipulation and visualisation
• Pricing reviews and rating recommendations
• Underwriting footprint analysis
• Reserving

Bringing an enthusiastic and personable approach to his work, Felix enjoys working hand-in-hand with client teams to help them embed data and analytics into their decision making.

Having held director-level leadership roles, Sarah has a proven track record of effecting change, from conception of ideas through delivery and transition to business-as-usual.
